Rationale: Term: December 2023 - August 2024

Amount: $83,850.00

Scope: This initiative will provide Roosevelt High School, Early College Studies (RHS-ECS) and Charles E. Gorton High School students the opportunity to earn college credits by taking dual credit college level equivalent ten semester hour credit courses in their respective schools. Farmingdale State College (FSC) will offer several 3-credit courses to the students, selected by each school to be given during the 2023-2024 academic year.

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Farmingdale State College to purchase consulting services to provide Roosevelt High School, Early College Studies (RHS-ECS) and Charles E. Gorton High School students the opportunity to earn college credits by taking dual credit college level equivalent ten semester hour credit courses in their respective schools. Farmingdale State College (FSC) will offer several 3-credit courses to the students, selected by each school to be given during the 2023-2024 academic year for the 2023- 2024 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Farmingdale State College a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Farmingdale State College to provide these services, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Farmingdale State College at a cost not to exceed $83,850.
