Rationale:
|
This is to assign the subject task for “HVAC Upgrades” at School 15 to BGA Engineering as per the results of RFP420-21-27 at a cost of $130,000.00 and a term of 365 calendar days.
This project will include but not be limited to: replacement of the entire chiller plant, select unit ventilators, upgraded digital controls and commissioning. This system is no longer functioning as designed and is beyond effective repairs.
The current estimated cost for this project is $1.5 million and is slated for construction in 2022.
RFP420-21-27 was issued to the design firms already under a requirements contract with the District. There were 2 responses. BGA is lowest and is most familiar with this school and its HVAC system. There is also a strong time constraint to have this system in operation for September 2022.
BGA is to provide SED permits, bid documents, bid review, contract awards and construction support. There is a contingency $25,000 to be used by the District as needed for reimbursable expenses such as surveying, HAZMAT sampling and testing, drain system cleaning & mapping, borings, special inspections, etc.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: under Resolution 15.15 dated February 26, 2020, the Board of Education authorized the award of requirements based Architectural/Engineering Services Contract No. 2020-00000675 to BGA Engineering in response to District RFP404 for an amount not to exceed $1 million and a term of 3 calendar years.
WHEREAS: work as defined under that contract by is required for CIP10927 “HVAC Upgrades” at School 15, and
WHEREAS: the response by BGA Engineering as per the results of RFP420-21-27, one of two received, is to be deemed most advantageous to the District at a cost of $130,000.00 and a term of 365 calendar days.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to assign task of providing professional Architectural/Environmental Consulting Services for CIP10927 “HVAC Upgrades” at School 15 to Barile Gallagher & Associates Consulting Engineers, 39 Marble Avenue, Pleasantville, NY 10570 under contract 2020-00000675 in the amount not to exceed $130,000.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
