Scope: General Construction Contract for the “Kitchen & Site Upgrades” at Robert C. Dodson School which includes the replacement of the school’s kitchen walk-in freezer & cooler, replacement of select concrete sidewalks, restoration of retaining wall, kitchen ceiling improvements and restoration of school’s loading dock.

Overview:
In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, bids were let and opened in public on February 14, 2024. Five (5) bids were received and reviewed. The first apparent low bidder Grace Contracting & Development LLC, was deemed unresponsive due to incomplete bid submission. The second low bidder was Abbott & Price, Inc. at $689,808.00 including alternates. The bids were duly examined and all due diligence observed in determining that Abbott & Price, Inc. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The work was designed by Fuller & D’Angelo Architects who estimated the value of the work at $800,000. The highest bid was $941,800.

Resolution: WHEREAS bids were issued for public advertisement and opened on February 14, 2024 in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 for Bid No. 7083 General Construction Contract for the “Kitchen & Site Upgrades” at Robert C. Dodson School Project No. 10945, and

WHEREAS such bids were duly examined and as a result the administration has determined that Abbott & Price, Inc. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $689,808.00 including alternate.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to award Bid No. 7083 General Construction Contract for Project No. 10945 “Kitchen & Site Upgrades” at Robert C. Dodson School to Abbott & Price, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $689,808.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
