Rationale:
|
This is to assign the design and SED filing work for 10929 “Fire Restoration &“Sidewalk Washout” Cross Hill Academy to Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C. for the amount of $48,500.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
Two emergency declaration were issued by the Superintendent on September 9, 2021 for the “Fire Restoration” and “Sidewalk Washout” at Cross Hill. Overall cost of this work is estimated to be $1,000,000.00. All work under these EMDECs has been completed and all areas turned back to the School except Room 6 which was destroyed by the fire and needs to reconstructed per SED and public bidding laws.
E&R’s scope of work will include DOL Asbestos filing, design and monitoring. SED filing for the emergency work and the design of the Room 6 reconstruction, which will be let for bid.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: On or about September 1, 2021 Cross Hill Academy suffered both flood and fire, and
WHEREAS: Tropical Storm Ida washed away sidewalks creating an unsafe conditions, and
WHEREAS: an electrical fire in Room 6 severely damaged the room and caused smoke damage to major portions of the building, and
WHEREAS: Emergency Declarations were issued on September 9, 2021 to procure goods and services required to make the school safe and usable, and
WHEREAS: work as defined under requirements contract 2020-0594 for Architectural/Engineering Services with E&R Engineering is required to ameliorate the damage to Cross Hill Academy, and
WHEREAS: E&R has been engaged under said contract to provide architectural/engineering consulting services for CIP 10929 “Fire Restoration & Sidewalk Washout” at the Cross Hill Academy under Emergency Declaration for a proposal amount of $48,500.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to assign Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C., 291 Genesee Street, Utica, NY 13501 to the task of providing professional engineering consulting services for CIP 10929 Fire Restoration & Sidewalk Washout” at the Cross Hill Academy Emergency Declaration under contract 2020-00000594 in an amount not to exceed $48,500.00 for term of 365 calendar days.
