Rationale:
|
By Board Resolution Item 16.29 dated June 16, 2021 the Board of Trustees authorized the award of contract 2022-0052 for “Annual Maintenance and Repair Air Conditioning Equipment" to Best Climate Control Corp., in the amount of $654,422.00 and 365 calendar days.
By Board Resolution Item 15.7 dated March 16, 2022 the Board of Trustees authorized the first amendment to contract 2022-0052 for a change order for $43,340.32 increasing the contract to $697,762.32.
By Board Resolution Item 20.27 dated June 14, 2022 the Board of Trustees authorized the second amendment to renew contract 2022-0052 for an additional year as per the terms and conditions of the contract.
A third amendment is required to facilitate the payment of invoices for work that was completed prior to the first extension but not invoiced. Best Climate submitted 39 invoices totaling $72,901.28 out of which $41,967.48 was paid from the contract leaving a balance of $30,933.80 to be paid.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: By Board Resolution Item 16.29 dated June 16, 2021 the Board of Trustees authorized the award of contract 2022-0052 for “Annual Maintenance and Repair Air Conditioning Equipment” to Best Climate Control Corp., in the amount of $654,422.00 and 365 calendar days.
WHEREAS: By Board Resolution Item 15.7 dated March 16, 2022 the Board of Trustees authorized the first amendment to contract 2022-0052 for a change order for $43,340.32 increasing the contract to $697,762.32.
WHEREAS: By Board Resolution Item 20.27 dated June 14, 2022 the Board of Trustees authorized the second amendment to renew contract 2022-0052 and the term to 730 calendar days, and
WHEREAS: Work under this contract was completed and duly accepted by the District during the first year of the contract but not invoiced as required, and
WHEREAS: A third amendment is required to facilitate the payment of invoices for change order work that was completed prior to the first extension but not invoiced for $30,933.80.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to approve change order 3 amendment 3 to Contract 2022-0052 for “Annual Maintenance and Repair Air Conditioning Equipment’ to Best Climate Control Corp., 75 Orville Drive, Bohemia, NY 11716 increasing the contract from $1,352,184.32 to $1,383,118.12 with no change in term.
