WHEREAS THE Board of Education has adopted criteria establishing the Yonkers Public Schools Student Trainee Program by approval on December 21, 2005, and
WHEREAS the New York State Department of Labor has passed legislation that the Minimum Wage Law of the State of New York is the rate of $14.00 per hour,
WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to increase the rate of pay for College Student Interns and Jr. Clerks to be paid at the rate of $16.00 per hour, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education herein requests that Yonkers Public Schools increase the rate of pay to $16.00 for College Student Interns and Jr. Clerks, unless a higher rate is subsequently approved via Board of Education Policy or a higher Minimum Wage goes into effect.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: This resolution supersedes all prior student trainee wage rate resolutions.
