Rationale:
|
Via Resolution 16.7 dated May 20, 2020 the Board authorized the award of the subject task assignment to Savin for $200,850.00. This fee was based on the use of a Project Labor Agreement being implemented on this project. The PLA (single prime) bid received only one bid at more than double the project estimate and was rejected. PLA requires less work for the CM. As part of their proposal it was accepted that a standards Wick’s Law (multiple prime contractors) project would cost $235,000.00. This is to provide for the Wick’s Law coverage for $235,000.00 under Amendment 3 of the contract 618507 (Resolution 18.5 on December 18, 2019) the contract was increased by $1.0 million to an upper limit of $4.0 million and extended contract for an additional 12 months.

Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.7 at the stated meeting on March 16, 2016, the Board of Education authorized the award of a requirements based, professional Construction Management services contract to Savin Engineers in response to D RFQ-316 for an amount not to exceed $1 million, and WHEREAS: under Resolution 22.31 at their stated meeting on June 19, 2018, Contract 618507 was amended to raise the fee limit by $1,000,000 and extend the term by an addition 12 months, and WHEREAS: under Resolution 18.6 at their stated meeting on November 20, 2018, Contract 618507 was amended to raise the fee limit by $1,000,000 and extend the term by an addition 12 months, and WHEREAS: under Resolution 18.5 at their stated meeting on December 18, 2019, Contract 618507 was amended to raise the fee limit by $1,000,000 and extend the term by an addition 12 months, and WHEREAS: under Resolution 16.7 at their stated meeting on May 20, 2020 Savin Engineers was assigned construction management services to Part 2 of CIP 10816, “Interior Restoration & Site Improvements” at School 9 at a cost not to exceed $200,850.000, and WHEREAS: the District requires additional Construction Management services from Savin for CIP 10816 in the amount not to exceed $34,150.00. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to issue an amendment to PO 2020-00000442 for Construction Management Services to Part 2 of CIP 10816, “Interior Restoration & Site Improvements” at School 9 to Savin Engineers, P.C., 3 Campus Drive, Pleasantville, NY 10570, in the amount of $34,150.00 therefore revising their assignment from $200,850 to $235,000.00.
