Rationale: This is a one year service contract with the provision for renewal up to two additional years by mutual consent under the same terms and conditions as bid. It was extend for the second and, by contract, the final time with a termination date of January 17, 2021. A replacement contract, IFB-6563 was let for bid on December 11, 2020 however the results were unsatisfactory and all bids were rejected. New bid documents are being prepared and will be let for bid in January/February 2021. In the meantime, this 3 month extension is to continue with the work while providing time for the rebid process. The amount requested is pro-rated from the 12 month contract amount.
Via Resolution 16.10 dated Jan 17, 2018 the Board of Trustees awarded an annual General Fund service contract to Parkway Pest Services for “Integrated Pest Management” in the amount of $55,993.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.

This is a one year service contract with the provision for renewal up to two additional years by mutual consent under the same terms and conditions as bid. By mutual consent of parties this contract was extend for the first via RES 15.10 dated DEC 19, 2018. It was extended for the second time via RES 16.6 dated NOV 20, 2019.

Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS; Via Resolution 16.10 dated Jan 17, 2018 the Board of Trustees awarded an annual General Fund service contract 2018-‘0506 to Parkway Pest Services for “Integrated Pest Management” in the amount of $55,993.00 for a term of 365 calendar days, and

WHEREAS: bid specifications provide for annual extensions by the mutual consent of both parties under the same terms and conditions of the original contract for up to two years, and

WHEREAS: such provisions were invoked to extend the contract for one year under the first amendment via Resolution 15.10 dated DEC 19, 2018 revising the contract amount to $111,926.00 and extending the term to 730 calendar days, and

WHEREAS: the second one year extension to this contract was approved via Resolution 16.6 dated NOV 11, 2019 revising the contract total to $167,859.00 and extending the term to 1095 calendar days, and

WHEREAS: all bids for IFB6563 let on Dec 11, 2020 to supplant said contract were rejected by Finance in favor of issuing a re-bid, and

WHEREAS: time is needed to assemble new bid documents and issue a second bid, and

WHEREAS: it is recommended that existing contract 2018-‘0506 be extended by 90 days and increased by $20,000to to provide pest management services while the re-bid is assembled, issued and awarded.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to amend Contract 2018-‘0506 “Integrated Pest Management Services” for the third time to extend the contract for a third time with Parkway Pest Services 100 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, N.Y. 11040 for an additional amount up to $20,000.00 for an added term of 90 calendar days. Increasing the contract amount to $187,859.00 and the term to 1,185 calendar days.
