Rationale:
|
Change Order 1 to Contract 2022-0796 “Service and Repair of Electric Motors & Pumps” with A&C Furia for $50,000.00 with no change in term increasing the contract from $22,125 to $72,125. There is a large percentage of failing pumps and motors that have been repaired repeatedly and are now beyond that option. This is a time and materials based contract. The initial quantities included for bidding purposes have proven insufficient for the current needs of the District. All of the work is being done at the contract bid prices.
Immediate work is required at the following schools at the upset prices shown:
Riverside High School: repair chiller pump No. 2, replace lug valves at $4,773.32
Montessori School 31: furnish and install 1 new pump and 2 motors at $13,799.36
Rosemarie Ann Siragusa School: repair two water pumps at $2,897.28
The total for these repairs is $21,469.96.
The remainder $28,530.04 will be used only as needed for the coming heating season.
This is a time and materials based contract. The initial quantities included for bidding purposes have proven insufficient for the current needs of the District. All of the above work is being done at the contract bid prices.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
WHEREAS: via Resolution 16.4 dated April 20, 2022 the Board authorized the award of Contract 2022-0796 to A&C Furia in the amount of $22,125.00 for a term of 365 days, and
WHEREAS: additional work under said contract entailing the repair of the pumps at Riverside High School, Montessori School 31, Rosemarie Ann Siragusa and other schools as required at an estimated upset cost of $50,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Schools is authorized to execute change order 1 for Contract 2022-0796 “Service and Repair of Electric Motor & Pumps” to A&C Furia 75 Lafayette Avenue, White Plains, NY 10603 in the amount of $50,000.00 increasing the contract from $22,125.00 to $72,125.00 with no change in contract term.
