A change order is a written agreement between the District and its contractor to change a building construction contract. They add to, delete from, or otherwise alter the work and/or progress schedule in the contract bid documents. CO’s are caused by any of three situations that can arise on a project: unforeseen conditions, design errors, omissions, and owner directed extra work. The subject contract was awarded via Resolution 15.13 dated July 15, 2020. This is the first amendment. This work is to replace the vacuum condensate pumping systems for three steam heat buildings: School 30 for $45,316.00, School 22 for $37,680.00 and Gorton High for $65,850.00. Total cost $148,846.00. It is required to keep the heating plants in these buildings operational and optimally efficient. Existing systems are failing and require constant maintenance. The work is to be paid out CAPITAL funds using the bid prices for labor and parts markups in the service contract.
