Rationale:
|
Westchester Community College Term: September 2021 – June 2022 Amount: $357,835.93 Scope: Agreement with Westchester Community College to provide support for the NYS PTECH Grant Initiative at Gorton High School, Riverside High School and Saunders Trades & Technical High School. This includes professional development for English and Mathematics teachers in addition to Engineering, Cybersecurity and Architecture Curriculums for the alignment of students in the Pathways in Technology for Early College High Schools. Also, the collaboration between Westchester Community College and the Yonkers Public Schools in which students will be enrolled in dual college courses for college credits offered at Roosevelt High School/Early College Studies under the Smart Scholars Grant of which WCC is a state approved partner.

WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Westchester Community College to purchase consulting services for Gorton High School, Riverside High School, and Saunders Trades & Technical High Schools in accordance with the P-Tech Grant Program and Roosevelt High School with the Smart Scholars Grant, for the 2021-2022 school year, WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Westchester Community College a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and, WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Westchester Community College to provide these services, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to amend and existing agreement with Westchester Community College at a total cost not to exceed $357,835.93. It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
