Scope – As part of the 2025-2026 E-Rate process, the District will be transitioning from Crown Castle for our Fiber Wide Area Network services to a new provider. As part of this transition, the District will need to continue our existing WAN services with Crown Castle as the new provider constructs their fiber network throughout the City. Therefore, we are seeking approval to continue, for the 2025-2026 school year, our current WAN services with our current provider during the network build. This service is eligible for E-Rate discounts, and as such, all necessary forms have been filed accordingly. The Fiber WAN service is eligible for a 90% discount, leaving the District responsible for our share of 10% of the cost.

Resolution:

WHEREAS the District is seeking approval to continue with our existing fiber service for the District’s Wide Area Network (WAN), and,
WHEREAS the term of the service continuation will be July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026, and,
WHEREAS the District will be transitioning from Crown Castle for our Fiber Wide Area Network services to a new provider. As part of this transition, the District will need to continue our existing WAN services with Crown Castle as the new provider constructs their fiber network throughout the City. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Yonkers Public Schools issue a service purchase order to Crown Castle Fiber in the amount of $59,814.40 for the annual cost of the District’s 10% share of the Fiber WAN for the 2025-2026 school year.
