Rationale:
|
This resolution is to grant the administration the authority to enter into contract as described above. In compliance with General municipal Law 103, this contract was first let for public and bids were opened on August 30, 2019. But was cancelled due to scheduling issues.
The contract was issued for re-bid, opened and read aloud in public on May 29, 2020. Bids were examined and all due diligence observed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
A total of 10 bids were received, with the highest bidder having a bid of $ 985,875.00 and average bid of $ 362,405.20. The work was designed by Fuller and D’ Angelo P.C and was estimated to be approximately $ 210,000.00
Chase Building Renovation Inc, is the lowest bidder with a base bid of $131,000.00 and the alternate at $8,000.00 bringing the total of the award to $139,000.00
After interviewing the apparent low bidder and confirming that they understood the scope of work, bids were found to be correct, Fuller and D’ Angelo P.C and Schools Facilities Management are recommending the award of the subject contract to Chase Building Renovation Inc.
The scope of work includes repairing of cast stone mortar joints, repointing of masonry, replacement of cracked bricks, replacement of window flashings, replacement of boiler flue cap, providing water repellent coating on brick and limestone surfaces.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: Bids were issued for public advertisement and opened on May 29, 2020 compliance with General Municipal Law for reBid IFB-6429-A “Select Roof & Masonry Restoration” Project No 10859, at Palisade Preparatory School, and
WHEREAS such bids were duly examined and as a result of this examination of the bids submitted, the administration has determined that Chase Building Renovation Inc, is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $139,000.00 including the alternate.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to award contract for reBid IFB-6429-A “Select Roof & Masonry Restoration” Project No 10859, at Palisade Preparatory School to Chase Building Renovation Inc, 2079 Wantagh Ave., Ste 4, Wantagh, NY 11793 for an amount not to exceed $139,000.00 including the alternate for a term of 226 calendar days.
