Rationale: This is to authorize the award of an equipment capital purchase order for four (4) steel storage containers from Cassone Leasing for $14,847.00 via Suffolk County Contract No. SCOT-021822.

Three storage containers are currently being leased at $2,340 per annum from the above vendor and will be a buyout purchase –

Saunders Trades and Technical High School $2,850
Roosevelt High School – Early College Studies $3,000
Yonkers Middle High School $2,850

A new container will be purchased to be placed at the Khalil Gibran School for $6,147.

The District will have a one-time savings of $9,741 by purchasing the 3 leased containers (instead of buying new units) and another $2,340 per year by purchasing the containers rather than leasing.

Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS: The School Facilities Management Department needs four (4) equipment storage containers for use by our Building Maintenance & Custodial Department along with the District Athletic Staff and,

WHEREAS: The currently used containers are leased, and the purchasing of these units will save on monthly rental costs by $2,340 annually,

WHEREAS: Four (4) storage containers are available for purchase in accordance with General Municipal Law from Cassone Leasing via Suffolk County Contract No. SCOT-021822 for a total amount of $14,847.00 and for a term of 180 calendar days.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is authorized to issue a purchase order for the procurement of four storage containers from Cassone Leasing, 1900 Lakeland Avenue, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779 via Suffolk County Contract No. SCOT-021822 for a total amount of $14,847.00 and for a term of 180 calendar days.
