Rationale: This resolution is to extend the term for another 365 calendar days for PO2021-0658 CIP10902 “2020 Lead Testing in School Drinking Water” under requirements contract Contract 2020-0629 which expires on March 16, 2022 to H2M Architects & Engineers and no funding increase.

Due to the pandemic, the State extended the lead in water (LIW) sampling deadline from December 31, 2020 to June 30, 2021. To be sampled and tested (S&T) a school must be occupied under normal operating conditions the day before sampling. This eliminates summers, long holiday breaks and the pandemic response.

To meet the June 30 deadline H2M was directed to begin the S&T in March 2021. The number of actionable results was higher than previous testing in 2016. This can is attributed to the fact that schools were not operating under “normal” conditions but at partial capacity. All failed outlets were immediately and properly posted or shut off per regulations.

H2M has completed the survey, inventory, sampling and data organization for the sampling of all potable water outlets in the district, including creating location plans.
The remaining phases of H2M’s assignment is to derive a remediation plan, oversight and record-keeping of same.
