Rationale:
|
This resolution is to grant the administration the authority to enter into contract as described above. In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, this contract was let for public and bids were opened in public and read aloud on February 23, 2021. Bids were examined and all due diligence observed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
A total of 3 bids were received, with the highest bidder having a bid of $1,162,000.00. The work was designed by LiRo Engineering, and was estimated to be approximately $902,454.00
After interviewing the apparent low bidder, confirming that they understood the scope of work, bids were found to be correct and the firm has performed satisfactorily on previous YPS projects LiRo Engineering and this department are recommending the award of the subject contract to APS Contracting, Inc.
This CONTRACT 1 of 3, General Construction Building work for the HVAC UPGRADES at Saunders HS.
Overall, Bid No. 6556 scope of work HVAC UPGRADES at Saunders includes but it not limited to the upgrade and re-routing of select HVAC duct work. This is the final part of the decade long effort to rebuild the HVAC system in Saunders High. The project cost is anticipated to be roughly $1.8 million.

WHEREAS: bids were issued for public advertisement and opened on February 23, 2021 in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 for Bid No. 6569 GENERAL CONSTRUCTION BUILDING Work, Contract 1 of 3 for the “HVAC UPGRADES” at Saunders HS. Project No. 10881, and
WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result of this examination of the bids submitted, the administration has determined that APS Contracting, Inc., is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $855,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that Bid No. 6556 GENERAL CONSTRUCTION BUILDING, Contract 1 of 3, for Project No. 10881, “HVAC UPGRADES at Saunders HS, to APS Contracting, Inc., 155-161 Pennsylvania Avenue, Paterson, NJ 07503 for the amount of $855,000.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
