Term: October 2023 – August 2024 Amount: $414,954.33 Scope: Agreement with Westchester Community College to provide support for the NYS PTECH Grant Initiative at Charles E. Gorton High School, Riverside High School, Saunders Trades & Technical High School and Barack Obama School for Social Justice. This includes professional development for English, Mathematics and other content teachers as well as align courses related to the college's degree programs in Engineering, Technology, Cyber Security, and Medical. Faculty from Westchester Community College will meet with teachers and students to engage in professional development activities and align curricula, learning goals and outcomes with the three grants. Also, the collaboration between Westchester Community College and the Yonkers Public Schools to continue to develop and offer activities for the Smart Scholars Early College High School students offered at Roosevelt High School/Early College Studies and Charles E. WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Westchester Community College to purchase consulting services to support agreement with Westchester Community College to provide support for the NYS PTECH Grant Initiative at Charles E. Gorton High School, Riverside High School, Saunders Trades & Technical High School and Barack Obama School for Social Justice. This includes professional development for English, Mathematics and content teachers in Engineering, Technology, Cyber Security and Medical. Faculty from Westchester Community College will meet with teachers and students to engage in professional development activities and align curricula, learning goals and outcomes. Also, the collaboration between Westchester Community College and the Yonkers Public Schools to continue to develop and offer activities for the Smart Scholars Early College High School students offered at Roosevelt High School/Early College Studies, Charles E. Gorton High School. Westchester Community College is a state approved partner for the 2023-2024 school year. WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Westchester Community College a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and, WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Westchester Community College to provide these services, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Westchester Community College at a cost not to exceed $414,986.95. It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
