Rationale:
|
Via Resolution 15.23 dated March 16, 2022 the Board of Trustees awarded contract 2022-0600 for Construction Management Services to Savin Engineers, P.C. for an amount not to exceed $1.0 million and a three year term. An emergency declaration for “School 16 Flooding” was issued by the Superintendent on August 11, 2022 to replace failed structures that have caused flooding to rooms 10 and 12. All work is complete. This is to assign the construction management and design support for CIP 10952 “Emergency Flood Remediation Work” at School 16 to Savin Engineers, P.C. for $10,500.00 and a term of 365 calendar days under contract 2022-0600. Savin Engineers will provide the construction management for the subject work, removal and replacement of existing stairs and drainage basin in areaway exit from classrooms 12 and 14, replacement of concrete slab and drainage basin at areaway from classroom 10, installation of new catch basin in parking area, new asphalt to facilitate for proper grading and drainage to new basin, and removal and replacement of interior corridor slab at basement corridor to replace damaged under slab piping. The construction is estimated at $120,000.00. |

Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS: Via Resolution 15.23 dated March 16, 2022 the Board of Trustees awarded contract 2022-0600 for Construction Management Services to Savin Engineers, P.C. for an amount not to exceed $1.0 million and a three year term, and WHEREAS: Work under the above contract is required by the District as per the emergency declaration issued by the Superintendent dated August 11, 2022, and WHEREAS: A proposal presented by Savin Engineers, P.C. to provide such services and field support for design has been most advantageous to the District at a cost not to exceed $10,500.00 and a term of 365 calendar days. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to assign Savin Engineers, P.C. 3 Campus Drive, Pleasantville, NY 10570 to the task of providing Construction Management Services CIP 10952 “Emergency Flood Remediation Work” at School 16 to Savin Engineers, P.C. for $10,500.00 and a term of 365 calendar days. |
