Special Education 1. Agreement with The Harris Project for 2022- 2023 School Year Amount: $50,000.00 Account:049-0699-22Z147-0000-C0496 Scope-This contract, in service of Yonkers students in grades six through eight (middle school), focuses on increasing awareness of the dangers of using substances, especially those that may contain Fentanyl, other opioids, and/or other adulterants and contaminants, through a combination of information sharing, knowledge building, skills development and norms clarification. In addition, in furtherance of our District-wide efforts to increase Co-Occurring Disorders Awareness (CODA) and expertise, among our students and staff, a collaboration with The Harris Project, Inc. and Student Assistance Services, Inc. (SAS) will be established, to realize the attached objectives. All referenced materials in this contract will be developmentally and culturally appropriate and available in different languages. Said materials will include phone numbers and links to websites with local and national resources, for additional information and services, including the 24/7 Poison Control Helpline. In addition, the materials developed in collaboration with SAS will support seamless access to co-occurring competent treatment in Westchester County. This resolution falls within approved user guidelines of the Opioid Settlement. Operationally, this additional collaborative service will realize the following attached objectives.

Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with The Harris Project to provide these services to Yonkers students in grades six through eight (middle school) WHEREAS the District has determined that the services ca best be provided by The Harris Project, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with The Harris Project in a total contract amount not to exceed $50,000.00
