Amount: $35,070.00
Scope: To provide Architectural/Engineering Services for “High-Tech Security Improvements” at Kahlil Gibran School Main Building (CIP 10970) and Modular Building (CIP 10971).
Overview:
To assign KG+D Architects, P.C. (KG+D) under their existing “On-Call” Architectural/Engineering (A/E) Services Contract No. 2024-0873, for “High-Tech Security Improvements” at Kahlil Gibran School Main Building and Modular Building.
Under this assignment KG+D will transfer their high-tech security designs completed under CIP 10808 “Classroom Additions” project to a stand-alone “High-Tech Security Improvements” project for the Main Building (CIP 10970) and for the Modular Building (CIP 10971), requiring requisite design changes for the Main Building and new designs for the Modular Building and new submissions to SED. KG+D’s fees are in the amount of $28,056.00 for the Main Building and $7,014.00 for the Modular Building.
The high-tech security designs will include door access control, video surveillance, and intrusion for the Main Building and Modular Building. Designs also include air condition of the school’s IT/Security Closet. The projects including soft costs is estimated to be $1 million for the Main Building and $100,000 for the Modular Building.
Bidding and Construction Administration Services will be addressed under an amendment pending SED approval and future bond sale.

WHEREAS under Resolution 18.17 dated April 17, 2024, the Board of Education authorized the award of professional “On-Call” Architectural Services Contract No. 2024-0873 to KG+D Architects, P.C. in response to District RFP-483 for an amount not to exceed $1 million and a term of 24-months, with three (3) options to renew for additional 12-month periods by mutual concurrence, and
WHEREAS work as defined under that contract is required for “High-Tech Security Improvements” at Kahlil Gibran School Main Building (CIP 10970) and Modular Building (CIP 10971), and
WHEREAS the response by KG+D Architects, P.C. to request for proposals issued by the Facilities Department was deemed most advantageous to the District with assignment of select services of the proposal at a cost not to exceed $35,070.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to assign KG+D Architects, P.C., to the task of providing professional “On-Call” Architectural Services for “High-Tech Security Improvements” at Kahlil Gibran School Main Building (CIP 10970) and Modular Building (CIP 10971) under Contract No. 2024-0873 in the amount not to exceed $35,070.00.
