Rationale:
|
This is to award a general fund contract for the repair and refinishing of the gym floor at Barack Obama School for Social Justice to Milburn Flooring via NYS OGS Tarkett USA, Inc. Contract PC69412, in the amount of $45,606.45 for a term of 365 calendar days.
This resolution authorizes the District to issue the subject purchase order for Milburn Flooring to:
• Screen/sand entire floor (4 passes), paint game lines (1 Main Basketball, 1 Main Volleyball, 3’ End Border and 1’ Side Border with Logo), finish with Bona 350 Sport Finish (2 coats), in the amount of $45,606.45.
This is the second year that Milburn Flooring has been engaged by the District to perform this work under the NYS OGS Contract.
Procurement will be via NYS OGS Tarkett USA, Inc. Contract PC69412, to Milburn Flooring, in an amount not to exceed $45,606.45 for a term of 365 calendar days.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: the Yonkers Board of Education requires that all existing gymnasium wood surfaces be maintained and improved, and
WHEREAS: Yonkers Public Schools in its process of maintaining and improving gymnasium wood surfaces throughout the District will repair, restripe, and refinish gymnasium wood floors throughout the District, as needed, and
WHEREAS: at Barack Obama School for Social Justice, Milburn Flooring will Screen/sand entire floor (4 passes), paint game lines (1 Main Basketball, 1 Main Volleyball, 3’ End Border and 1’ Side Border with Logo), finish with Bona 350 Sport Finish (2 coats)
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into a contract with Milburn Sales Co., Inc. (dba: Milburn Flooring), 20 35th Street, Copiague, NY 11726, under NYS OGS Tarkett USA, Inc. Contract PC69412 for an amount not to exceed $45,606.45 for a term of 365 calendar days.
