Rationale:

Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C. Amount: $20,750.00 Scope: To provide additional environmental engineering services for CIP 10933 “Underground Fuel Oil Storage Tank Replacement and Related Work” at Kahlil Gibran School. Overview: Under the Emergency Declaration dated November 24, 2021, Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C. was required to perform additional engineering services which was not requested under their original request for proposal. These additional services include investigations and designs for water mitigation around the new fuel oil tank, designs for new concrete stairs to provide safe student access from the school to the ball field, designs for the replacement of the baseball back stop required for mitigation of the water around the new tank, designs for select asphalt pavement restoration adjacent to the fuel oil tank and requisite engineering services for issuing, negotiating and providing construction oversight of contractor change orders totaling $20,750.00.

Resolution:

WHEREAS via Resolution 15.5 dated March 16, 2022, the Board of Education awarded PO No. 2022-7859 for “On-Call” Environmental Engineering Services for CIP 10933 “Underground Fuel Oil Storage Tank Replacement and Related Work” at Kahlil Gibran School, and WHEREAS Amendment 1 is required for additional environmental engineering services, and WHEREAS Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C. have presented an acceptable proposal to complete this added task at a cost of $25,750.00, and WHEREAS less the balance of $5,000.00 in additional services, an amendment of $20,750.00 is required. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to issue Amendment 1 under Contract No. 2022-0816 to Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C. for $20,750.00, increasing their task amount from $32,500.00 to $53,250.00.
