Rationale:
|
This is to award IFB 6606 “GROUP A BUILDING ENVELOPE RESTORATION” CIP 10862 School 14 Modular, CIP 10863 School 23 & CIP 10866 Riverside High School to MILCON Construction Corp. for $3,406,670.00 and a term of 365 calendar days.
Construction contract IFB 6606, General Construction Contract work, “Group A Building Envelope Restoration”, in compliance with General Municipal Law 103, was let for public bid and bids were opened in public and read aloud on April 23, 2021. A total of Six (6) bids were received, with the highest bidder at $5,664,636.00 the average at $4,704,036.
A-1 Construction Services, the apparent low bidder at the bid opening, was determined to be non-responsive in that they did meet the experience and sought to sub-contract more of the work than was specified and was therefore disqualified.
The work was designed by KG&D Architects and was estimated to be approximately $4,887.000. KG&D will also be doing the construction management.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 public bids opened on April 23, 2021 for RFB 6606 Contract 1 for General Construction Work, “Group A Building Envelope Restoration “and
WHEREAS: six (6) bids were received and read aloud in public, and
WHEREAS: the apparent low bidder at the bid opening, A-1 Construction, was determined to be non-responsive in that they did meet the experience and sought to sub-contract more of the work than was specified, and
WHEREAS: the bids were duly examined and as a result, the administration has determined that MILCON Construction Corp. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder at $ 3,406,670.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that Superintendent is hereby authorized to award the construction contract for IFB 6606, General Construction for “Group A Building Envelope Restoration”, at School 14, 23 and Riverside High to Milcon Construction Corp. 142 Dale Street West Babylon, New York 11704, for $3,406,670.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
