Rationale:
|
This resolution is to increase CAPITAL Contract 2021-00000251, CIP10841 “Auditorium, Gym and Music Room Improvements” at Cross Hill Academy to Pierotti Corp., in the amount of $18,130.61 for CHANGE ORDER 1; increasing the contract amount from $358,000.00 to $376,130.61.
This is a Change Order for primarily owner directed work and unforeseen conditions in the amount of $38,130.61 minus the contingency allowance of $20,000 for a net change order increase of $18,130.61. The change order work included increasing the bleacher size from the recommended capacity based on the school’s occupancy to the maximum capacity size. Additional gym wall padding was also added to scope for added protection. An additional light fixture was added to the house lights of the auditorium. Two new 3-phase electrical circuits were added to scope to support the motor operation of the new bleachers. The auditorium lights are controlled by an aging dimming panel which failed to operate one bank of lights and needed to be re-fed by another electrical circuit. Plans called for the abatement of ACM pipe insulation behind the fountain wall but field conditions revealed there wasn’t any asbestos to be removed.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS by Resolution Board Item No. 17.19 at the Board of Trustees stated meeting on August 19, 2020, Contract No. 21-00000251 was recommended for award to Pierotti Corp., 84 Calvert Street, Harrison, NY 10528 and,
WHEREAS: in the course of executing the contracted work it was determined that additional work was required to be performed in the amount of $18,130.61.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to issue Change Order 1 to contract No. 2021-00000251, CIP10841 “Auditorium, Gym and Music Room Improvements” at Cross Hill Academy to Pierotti Corp. in the amount of $18,130.61, increasing the overall cost of the contract from $358,000.00 to $$376,130.61.
