Term: October 2024 – June 2026
Amount: $150,000.00
Scope: The National Implementation Research Network (NIRN) is an intermediary organization in a Gates Foundation funded NY Math Network Project. Districts involved in this network include Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Yonkers. The goal of this work between the Yonkers Public Schools, the other school districts and NIRN is to participate in a network of school systems committed to continuous and collective learning in order to strengthen teaching and student achievement through effective professional development infrastructure. The donation of $150,000 will be used by YPS to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive math professional learning infrastructure.

Resolution:

WHEREAS the donor, NIRN has agreed to donate $150,000.00 to Yonkers Public Schools to support the development of a comprehensive math professional learning infrastructure, from October 2024 – June 2026,
WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with NIRN a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,
WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with NIRN to donate these funds, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to allocate the donated funds ($150,000.00) toward advancing professional development initiatives.
