CO1 10918 Demolition the Townhouse A&B at William Boyce Thompson, STATE CONTRACTING $81,900.00.
This is to authorize the award of Change Order 1 for Contract 2021-0513, PO 2022-0774, General Construction, CIP10918 “Demolition the Townhouse A&B at William Boyce Thompson” to STATE CONTRACTING, for the amount of $81,900.00, is increasing the contract amount from $122,875.20 to $204,775.20. This is to cover asbestos abatement inadvertently omitted from the original scope of work. Post bid sampling and testing indicates that the extent of the asbestos work was far in excess of that originally thought.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS by Resolution No. 18.18 dated July 21, 2021 contract 2022-0774, General Construction, CIP10918 “Demolition the Townhouse A&B at William Boyce Thompson” to STATE CONTRACTING, for the amount of $122,875.20 and a term of 180 calendar days, and
WHEREAS: in the course of executing the contracted work it was determined that additional asbestos abatement is required in order to demolish the buildings, and
WHEREAS: three firms were solicited to perform this additional work, and
WHEREAS: the proposal by State Contracting was the lowest of these at $81,900.00 and most beneficial to the District.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to issue Change Order 1 to Contract 2021-0513, PO 2022-0774, General Construction, CIP10918 “Demolition the Townhouse A&B at William Boyce Thompson” to STATE CONTRACTING, for the amount of $81,900.00 increasing the contract amount from $122,875.20 to $204,775.20 with no change in term.
