Rationale:
|
This resolution is to grant the administration the authority to award a contract per IFB-6769 for General Construction Work on CIP 10929 “Fire Restoration” at Cross Hill Academy to Milcon Construction, Corp. for the amount of $676,400.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, bids were let and opened in public June 10, 2022. Bids were examined and all due diligence observed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
Bid IFB-6769 resulted in a total of 4 bids received, with the highest bid at $924,919. The work was designed by Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering (E&R) and the general construction work was estimated to be approximately $500,000,000.
After interviewing the apparent low bidder and confirming that they understood the scope of work and bids were found to be correct, E&R, Construction Manager Triton Construction and Schools Facilities Management are recommending the award of the subject contract to Milcon Construction Corp.
The classroom fire restoration scope of work includes all new interior finishes for the floor, walls and ceiling; new lighting and power; new window glazing, new heating and ventilation systems; new sinks and furniture.
This work is schedule to start late summer of 2022 and be substantially completed by early spring 2023.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: bids were issued for public advertisement and opened on June 10, 2022 in compliance with General Municipal Law for Bid No. 6769 General Construction Work “Fire Restoration” at Cross Hill Academy for CIP 10929, and
WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result of this examination of the bids submitted, the administration has determined that Milcon Construction Corp. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $676,400.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that Bid No. 6769 General Construction Work, “Fire Restoration” at Cross Hill Academy Project No. 10929 to Milcon Construction Corp., 142 Dale Street, West Babylon, NY 11704 in an amount not to exceed $676,400.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
