Rationale: This is to authorize the issuance of a change order for Contract 2021-0798 CIP 10870 “Building Envelope Restoration Group B Schools” at Charles E. Gorton High School to Milcon Construction Corp. for a credit in the amount of $20,280.30, decreasing the total contract amount from $575,000.00 to $554,719.70.

This change order is due to a balance left in contract Item 8 Miscellaneous Additional Work. The original amount was $50,000.00 of which $29,719.70 was expensed for owner directed additional work: replacement of floor hatch near the work area that had collapsed, repair of roof near the work area that had failed and installation of steel members to support lighting and roofing.

Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen;
WHEREAS: via Resolution 17.24 dated May 19, 2021 the Board authorized the award of
Contract 2021-0798 CIP 10870 “Building Envelope Restoration Group B Schools” at Charles E. Gorton High School to Milcon Construction Corp. for the amount of $575,000.00, and

WHEREAS: in the course of construction it was determined that $20,280.30 of the Allowance funding was not needed, therefore a credit in that amount be issued.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to issue Credit Change Order 1 to Contract 2021-0798 “Building Envelope Restoration Group B Schools” at Charles E. Gorton High School to Milcon Construction Corp. 142 Dale Street West Babylon, New York 11704 for the amount of $20,280.30, decreasing the total contract amount to $554,719.70.
