Amount: $570,000.00
Scope: General Construction Building Contract at Martin Luther King Jr. Academy which includes; replacement of ceilings for the main office and main entrance corridor; select toilet room alterations; replacement of select smoke doors; new chase walls for new electrical panels; installation of new window AC units for all classroom; miscellaneous site improvements; and alternate work to replace the kitchen ceiling and abatement of kitchen exhaust hood.
Overview:
In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, bids were let and opened in public on February 22, 2024. 6 bids were received, examined and all due diligence observed in determining that PB Contracting Corp is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The work was designed by Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C. who estimated the value of the work at $1,025,000.00 The highest bid was $995,000.00.

WHEREAS bids were issued for public advertisement and opened on February 22, 2024 in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 for Bid No. 7084 General Construction Building Work, Contract 1 for the “Roof Replacement and Select Interior Upgrades - Part 3 of Roof, Heating Plant, Window Replacement and Interior Upgrades” at Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy, Project No. 10875, and
WHEREAS such bids were duly examined and as a result the administration has determined that PB Contracting Corp is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $570,000.00
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to award Bid No. 7084 General Construction Building Work, Contract 1, for Project No. 10875 “Roof Replacement and Select Interior Upgrades - Part 3 of Roof, Heating Plant, Window Replacement and Interior Upgrades” at Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy to PB Contracting Corp in an amount not to exceed $570,000.00 for a term of 548 calendar days.
