Rationale:
|
This resolution is to grant the administration the authority to enter into contract as described above. In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, this contract was let for public and bids were opened in public and read aloud on July 10, 2020. Two (2) bids were opened and examined and all due diligence observed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
After interviewing the apparent low bidder and confirming that they understood the scope of work, bids were found to be correct Naber Electric was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Facilities and CPL Architects are recommending the award of the subject contract to Naber Electrical Corp.
CIP10812 includes the renovation of 8 former shop rooms into 10 SED standard classrooms, refurbished lighting in 6 stairwells, welding & painting the chimneys, sidewalk replacement outside the Arena and new roofing over the Music Room. The work was designed by Sammel Architects (CPL Architecture) and the electrical work was estimated to be approximately $351,900.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: bids were issued for public advertisement and opened on July 10, 2020 in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 for Bid No. IFB-6368-B ELECTRICAL Work for the “Reconstruction of portions of the building – Yonkers Middle/High School”, Project No. 10812 at the Yonkers Middle/High School, and
WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result of this examination of the bids submitted, the administration has determined that Naber Electrical Corp, is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $ 456,789.00
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that Bid No. 6368-B ELECTRICAL work, Contract for the “Reconstruction of portions of the building – Yonkers Middle/High School”, Project No. 10812 at the Yonkers Middle/High School, to Naber Electrical Corp, 1025 Saw Mill River Road Yonkers, New York 10710 in an amount not to exceed $456,789.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
