Rationale:
|
By Resolution 20.7 dated March 17, 2021 the Trustees of the Board of Education authorized the award of Contract 2021-0676 for CIP 10881 “HVAC Upgrades” at Saunders Trades and Technical High School to APS Contracting, Inc. for $855,000.00 and for a term of 365 days.
This is to authorize the award of Change Order 1 in the amount of $45,450.05 increasing the contract to $900,450.05 and the term to 730 calendar days for paperwork purposes.
This change order is for field conditions and owner directed additional work performed at negotiated lump sum prices.
Seventeen change order proposals were requested of the contractor by the District for additional work, 15 were approved with 2 being rejected, most of which are due to changed, deteriorated or unforeseen conditions. This includes but is not limited to the modifications to the steel, asbestos removals, additional sheetrock repairs and concrete infill in various areas.
All work is complete. Extended term is for paperwork purposes.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: By Resolution 20.7 dated March 17, 2021 the Trustees of the Board of Education authorized the award of Contract 2021-0676 for CIP 10881 “HVAC Upgrades” at Saunders Trades and Technical High School to APS Contracting, Inc. for $855,000.00 and for a term of 365 days.
WHEREAS: in the course of executing the contracted work it was determined that additional work due principally to unforeseen conditions was required to complete the contract work at a cost of $45,450.05, and
WHEREAS: extending the term to 730 calendar days for paperwork purposes.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to issue Change Order 1 to Contract 2021-0676, “HVAC Upgrades” at Saunders Trades and Technical High School to APS Contracting, Inc., 155-161 Pennsylvania Avenue, Paterson, NJ 07503 for $45,450.05 increasing the contract from $855,000.00 to $900,450.05 and the term to 730 calendar days.
