Rationale:
|
This is to authorize Change Order 1 to Capital Contract 2021-0794 for CIP 10873 “Auditorium Upgrades and Exterior Bleacher Replacement” at Lincoln High School to Markely Mechanical for $ 18,062.64 increasing the contract from $448,400.00 to $466,462.64 and extending term for another 180 calendar days for paperwork purposes.
This change order is for field conditions and owner directed additional work performed at negotiated lump sum prices. The reconstruction process uncovered issues with the steam leak which necessitated the duct insulation removed, leakage remedied and insulation reapplied for $21,719.26. Installation of additional convectors $1,670.00, replacement of gate valve and coupling $1,042.58 and miscellaneous other work for $13,630.80. All work is complete.
The contingency fund was tapped for its $20,000 leaving a change order balance of $18,062.64. This increases the contract from $448,400.00 to $466,462.64. The extension is required for paperwork purposes. All work is complete.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: via Resolution 17.20 dated May 19, 2021, the Board authorized the award of
Contract 2021-0794 for CIP 10873 “Auditorium Upgrades and Exterior Bleacher Replacement” at Lincoln High School to Markley Mechanical for $448,400 and a term of 365 calendar days, and
WHEREAS: in the course of construction it was deemed in the best interest to replace the duct insulation, cap steam leaks and other work at the negotiated lump sum price of $18,062.64 increasing the contract from $448,400.00 to $466,462.64 and extending term for another 180 calendar days for paperwork purposes.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to issue Change Order 1 Contract 2021-0794, CIP 10873 “Auditorium Upgrades and Exterior Bleacher Replacement” at Lincoln High School to Sun-Dance Energy Contractors Inc., d/b/a Markley Mechanical for $ 18,062.64 increasing the contract $448,400.00 to $466,462.64 and extending term for another 180 calendar days for paperwork purposes.
