Scope: Winsor Learning, Inc. is the manufacturer of the Sonday System 1 Reading Intervention. Sonday System 1 offers structured, systematic, multisensory reading intervention for readers at the beginning stages of reading through the end of the 2nd grade reading level. The lesson plan uses proven Orton-Gillingham methods to provide effective intervention in small-group settings.

Thirty (30) teachers will be trained in using the Orton-Gillingham method. The training will be an introduction to Multisensory Teaching Methodology and provide a detailed look at the implementation of the Sonday System 1 Reading Intervention Program. The training will offer hands-on use of the materials and practical strategies to use with struggling students. Materials will include 30 Sonday System 1 Teachers Kits to provide instructional support for students.

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Winsor Learning, Inc. to purchase Sonday Systems 1 a multisensory solution for reading,

WHEREAS the District has determined that this system can be purchased from Winsor Learning, Inc.,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorized the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Winsor Learning, Inc. for the purchase of Sonday System 1 in the amount not to exceed $54,587.50


It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
