Amount: $301,420.00
Scope: To provide construction management services for CIP 10914 “Water Mitigation of Fuel Tank Room and Other Improvements” at Cesar E. Chavez School and CIPs 10961, 10962, 10963 and 10964 “High-Tech Security Upgrades” at VIVE School/Pathways to Success, Rosemarie Ann Siragusa School, Paideia School 15 and School 22.

Overview:
To assign Savin Engineers, P.C. under their existing “On-Call” Construction Management Service Contract No. 2022-0600, for Capital Improvement Projects 10914, 10961, 10962, 10963 and 10964 valued at $6.65 million and scheduled to start summer 2025.

CIP 10914 “Water Mitigation of Fuel Tank Room and Other Improvements” at Cesar E. Chavez School scope of work includes but is not be limited to ground water mitigation for the Fuel Oil Tank Room and Switch Gear Room such as new sump pumps and masonry waterproofing, ventilation improvements to the Fuel Oil Tank Room and Switch Gear Room, improvement to the loading dock and gas meter rig enclosure, gymnasium upgrades such as replacement of sports flooring known to contain mercury with wood sports flooring and replacement of lighting and ceiling diffusers, replacement of the Domestic Hot Water Heater, Boiler Feed Unit and select exterior doors. This project cost is estimated at $2.25 million and is scheduled to start summer 2025. Savin’s fee is for a not to exceed amount of $98,908.00.

CIPs 10961, 10962, 10963 and 10964 “High-Tech Security Upgrades” at VIVE School/Pathways to Success, Rosemarie Ann Siragusa School, Paideia School 15 and School 22. Scope of work includes but is not limited to complete interior and exterior surveillance camera coverage, electronic perimeter door controls and monitoring, card readers at select operating doors, two-way video/audio intercom with remote lock operations at visitor access doors and secure & climate-controlled server rooms. Each project cost is estimated at $1.1 million and is scheduled to start summer 2025. Savin’s fee for each school is for a not to exceed amount of $50,628.00.

Savin will be responsible for providing Pre-Construction and Construction Management services through project completion.

Resolution: WHEREAS via Resolution 15.23 dated March 16, 2022, the Board of Education authorized the award of an “On-Call” Professional Construction Management Services Contract to Savin Engineers, P.C. in response to District RFQ-453 for an amount not to exceed $1 million, and

WHEREAS Savin Engineers, P.C. responded to a request for proposal RFP 420-24-11 by the Facilities Department to provide construction management services to Capital Improvement Projects 10914, 10961, 10962, 10963 and 10964 and was deemed most advantageous to the District at a cost not to exceed $301,420.00.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to assign Savin Engineers, P.C. to the task of providing “On-Call” Professional Construction Management Services for Capital Improvement Projects 10914, 10961, 10962, 10963 and 10964 at a cost not to exceed $301,420.00.
