Rationale:
|
Via Resolution 15.3 at their stated meeting on March 16, 2022 the Board of Trustees amended requirements contract 2020-0630 to KG&D Architects increasing the sum to $2.0 million and extending the term to 1,095 calendar days expiring on March 16, 2023.
This resolution is to authorize the award of a general fund purchase order under that contract for KG&D to provide a feasibility study to adaptively re-use the Biondi School building as 6-12 Media/Arts focused school. This will include a refinement of the conceptual design and assess all building systems – structural, roof, mechanical, electrical, fire protection and plumbing to identify required upgrades.
KG+D is one of five firms under a standing requirements contract with the District that were awarded as a result of the issuance of RFQ313 in 2017. Of the five, they are the best suited to effectively meet the NYSED Facilities Planning Group requirements for the design and permitting of a new school.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: Via Resolution 15.3 at their stated meeting on March 16, 2022 the Board of Trustees amended requirements contract 2020-0630 to KG+D Architects increasing the sum to $2.0 million and extending the term to 1,095 calendar days expiring on March 16, 2023, and
WHEREAS: architectural and/or engineering services as specified under Contract 2020-0630 are required for the production of a feasibility study and report potentially leasing Biondi Education Center Avenue School, and,
WHEREAS: KG+D is uniquely qualified among the District architects and engineers for this type of study and has submitted an acceptable proposal at $27,000.00 to complete this study, and the preliminary plan application process to the satisfaction of the NYSED Facilities Planning Group, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to assign KG+D Architects, 285 Main Street, Mt. Kisco, New York 10549, Vendor Code 98600085 to the task of providing professional Architectural/Engineering services for the “NYSED Preliminary Design Application for the Future Biondi Education Center Avenue School” for an amount not to exceed $27,000.00 and for a term of 180 calendar days.
