Term: October 2023- June 2024 Amount: 39,990.00 Scope: Scholastic Inc will prioritize Family Engagement Assessment as a core lever that supports student learning and development in addition to offering insights on how to effectively build on school strengths. The Family Engagement Assessment (FEA) is a process that measures a school's capacity for developing effective home school partnerships and recommends solutions for enriching and prioritizing family engagement practices. The FEA helps schools understand how they are doing in 4 key areas-Welcoming, Communication, Information, and Engagement.

WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Scholastic Inc to purchase consulting services and to continue collaboration with Yonkers Public Schools in prioritizing family engagement as a core lever for student achievement and developing meaningful partnerships that support student learning and development for the 2023-2024 school year, WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Scholastic Inc a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and, WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Scholastic Inc to provide these services, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Scholastic Inc at a cost not to exceed $39,990. It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
