Amount: $90,000
Scope: The purpose of the services to be provided by WJCS clinical social workers to students in Yonkers Public Schools is to provide crisis intervention and short-term therapy to foster student’s academic and social achievement. Recognizing that the unpredictable and erratic nature of the COVID 19 pandemic has been challenging for students, the crisis stabilization clinician will work with students to provide a stable and supportive atmosphere and to help them develop the skills to cope and thrive during this challenging time. The amendment of the contract of resolution 20.5 with Westchester Jewish Community Services from the October 19,2022 meeting by increasing it by $90,000 from $30,000 to total $120,000.

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to amend contract from Resolution 20.5 from October 19,2022 meeting with Westchester Jewish Community Services to purchase consulting to be provided by WJCS clinical social workers to students in Yonkers Public Schools is to provide crisis intervention and short-term therapy to foster student’s academic and social achievement. This increase will provide therapy and family support for students of Cross Hill Academy and Ella Fitzgerald Academy, as well as a crisis intervention throughout the District for the 2022-2023 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Westchester Jewish Community Services a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to amend contract from Resolution 20.5 with Westchester Jewish Community Services from the October 19, 2022 meeting to provide these services, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to amend current contract from resolution 20.5 with Westchester Jewish Community Services on October 19,2022 by increasing it by $90,000 from $30,000 at a cost not to exceed $120,000.

It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
