Scope: HVAC construction contract work at Martin Luther King Jr. Academy includes; upgrades to the HVAC systems by providing three new Roof Top Units for the Main Office, Main Entrance Corridor and Cafeteria, furnishing new window AC Units for all classrooms and requisite HVAC controls.
Overview:
In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, bids were let and opened in public on February 22, 2024. Three (3) bids were received, examined and all due diligence observed in determining that Joe Lombardo Plumbing & Heating of Rockland, Inc is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The work was designed by Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C. (E&R) who estimated the value of this contract work at $1,270,000. The highest bid was $2,125,000.00.

WHEREAS bids were issued for public advertisement and opened on February 22, 2024 in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 for Bid No. 7084 HVAC Work, Contract 2 for the “Roof Replacement and Select Interior Upgrades - Part 3 of Roof, Heating Plant, Window Replacement and Interior Upgrades” at Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy, Project No. 10875, and
WHEREAS such bids were duly examined and as a result the administration has determined that Joe Lombardo Plumbing & Heating of Rockland, Inc. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $1,847,877.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to award Bid No. 7084 HVAC Work, Contract 2, for Project No. 10875 “Roof Replacement and Select Interior Upgrades - Part 3 of Roof, Heating Plant, Window Replacement and Interior Upgrades” at Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy to Joe Lombardo Plumbing & Heating of Rockland, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $1,847,877.00 for a term of 548 calendar days.
