Create Capacity, LLC
Term: October 2024-August 2025(no change to terms)
Amount: $7,800
Scope: Amendment #1 to Create Capacity(Contract #2025-00000472-BOE Approved 10/30/2024 BOCS Approved 11/19/2024) to increase the contract by $7,800 for a total amount not to exceed $69,800. Create Capacity will support a select group of Yonkers educators in designing and refining summer literacy programming that centers multilingual learners (MLLs), with a focus on:
-Increasing opportunities for extended academic discourse
-Strengthening oral language and foundational literacy skills (all grades)
-Embedding creativity and artistic expression
-Utilizing student work analysis to guide instruction
This work builds on prior MLL Shadowing data and is designed to shift classroom conditions toward language-rich, student-centered instruction.

Resolution:

WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to amend the contract with Create Capacity, LLC to provide additional consulting services to support Yonkers Public Schools educators in designing and refining summer literacy programming that centers around multilingual learners for the 2024-2025 school year.
WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Create Capacity, LLC a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,
WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to Amend an agreement with Create Capacity to provide these services, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools Amend an agreement with Create Capacity, LLC an additional $7,800 at a cost not to exceed $69,800.
It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office
