Rationale:
|
This it to issue a PO to A.T. Equipment for replacement window shades damaged by the fire in 22 classrooms and offices. Although an Emergency Declaration has been issued, this work is being procured under the Southern Westchester BOCES Bid 2019-20-CO9 Item 3. This is capital construction.
In the early hours of September 1, 2021 an electrical fire in Room 6 initiated a fire alarm to which the City Fire Department responded very quickly to put the fire out. The fire resulted in Room 6 being damaged by fire and roughly 25,000 square feet of the school building affected by smoke. During the emergency cleanup it was determined the window shade fabric in 22 rooms could not be cleaned and required replacement.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: on September 1, 2021 an electrical fire in Room 6 which was quickly contained but the smoke damage included roughly 25,000 square feet of the building. This included the window shades in 22 classrooms, and
WHEREAS: an emergency declaration was issued by the Superintendent of Schools on September 9, 2021 to have the fire restoration completed in the most timely manner, and
WHEREAS: AT Equipment Sales, has been solicited to furnish and install the replacement shades under Westchester BOCES Bid 2019-20-C09 for $16,445.00 and a term of 180 calendar days.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that a Purchase Order be issued AT Equipment Sales, 180 Brook Street, Suite B&C, Scarsdale, NY 10583 for the replacement of window shades for CIP10929 “Fire Restoration” at the Cross Hill Academy School, for $16,445.00 for term of 180 calendar days.
