Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Term: No change in term. Original not-to-exceed amount: $1,983,740.47 Amended not-to-exceed amount: $60,200.34 Total amount not to exceed: $2,043,940.81 New Totals Year 1 (July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024) – $330,623.41 Year 2 (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025) – $337,187.88 Year 3 (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026) – $337,187.88 Year 4 (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027) – $337,187.88 Year 5 (July 1, 2027 – June 30, 2028) – $337,187.88 Year 6 (July 1, 2028 – June 30, 2029) - $337,187.88 Digital licenses for Earth and Space as well as Biology classrooms for 7 classrooms (September 1, 2024 – August 31, 2025) - $27,378.00 Scope: This resolution is to purchase additional consumable and non-consumable science materials each year and 'Into Science' student digital licenses to support life science instruction in our 8th-grade classrooms. This resolution is specifically for Yonkers Montessori Academy, Paideia School 15, School 16, Casimir Pulaski, Family School 32, Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy, Barack Obama School for Social Justice and Yonkers Middle High School. Additionally, this resolution is necessary to purchase pilot student and teacher digital licenses for Earth and Space as well as Biology classrooms. This resolution is specifically for 7 high schools, Yonkers Middle High School, Saunders High School, Roosevelt High School, Riverside High School, Lincoln High School, Barack Obama School for Social Justice and Yonkers Montessori Academy to ensure they align with the new NGSS Science Regents. This is amendment #2 to the existing contract of $1,983,740.47 ($330,623.41 for all 6 years) (BOE approved 4/19/23, BOCS approved 4/25/23 contract # 2023-00000710) Resolution #20.4 and represents an increase of $60,200.34 due to a request for additional consumable and non consumable science materials and student digital licenses. Amendment #1 reflected a name change only (BOE approved 5/17/23, BOCS approved 5/23/23). The total contract will be $2,043,940.81. |

Resolution
|
WHEREAS the Board of Education desires to amend its existing contract with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company to purchase additional consumables and non-consumables, student and teacher digital licenses for grade 8 Life Science, as well as digital textbooks for high school biology, and high school Earth and Space classrooms, WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and, WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to amend its existing agreement with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company to provide these services, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to amend its existing agreement with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company at a cost not to exceed: $330,623.41 for the first year, $337,187.88 for years 2-6, and $27,378 for 24-25 Grade 9 teacher and student digital licenses. It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office. |
