Rationale:
|
Amendment 3 CIP10875 “Roof, Heating Plant & Replacement & Interior Upgrades” at M.L. King Jr. School PO 2020-00006503 to Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C., for $60,000 increasing the fee from $530,000 to $590,000.00 with no change in term.
Amendment 3 is to cover the cost of splitting the essentially completed bid documents into separate bids. Due to budget, schedule and build-ability the elevator will be built at a later date, the roof on the Modular has to be bid separately (per SED) and there is added work to design structural reinforcement for the parking lot deck over the storage rooms which has been found to be in a poor condition. This will add $60,000.00 increasing the contract to $590,000.00 with no change in term.
This project was assigned to E&R by Resolution 15.30 dated August 21, 2019 for $280,000.00. Bidding and construction services were purposely omitted from the assignment to meet the budget conditions at the time.
Amendment 1 by Resolution 15.3 dated July 15, 2020 was to have this project applied to a new requirements contract with no change in fees or terms.
Amendment 2 by Resolution 14.14 dated September 16, 2020 provided for bidding and construction services purposely omitted from the assignment (RES 15.30 AUG 2019) and to pay for added scope including but not limited to: relocation of the elevator, and provision of air-conditioning in the cafeteria, kitchen and lobby. This added $250,000 increasing the contract to $530,000.00

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: via Resolution 15.3 on August 21, 2019 the Board of Trustees, assigned Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C. to professional engineering services for CIP10875 “ Roof, Heating Plant & Replacement and Interior Upgrades” at Martin Luther King Jr. School under PO 2020-00006503 in the amount of $280,000.00 for a term of 1095 calendar days, and
WHEREAS: Via Resolution 15.3, dated July 15, 2020, Amendment 1, the Board of Trustees reassigned the task for CIP10875 to PO 2020-00006503 contract 2020-00000594 for Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C., effectively replacing the expiring Contract 617107, and
WHEREAS: Via Resolution 14.14, on September 16, 2020, Amendment 2, the Board of Trustees approved increasing the fee from $280,000.00 to $530,000.00 with no change in term, and
WHEREAS: additional work as defined under that contract is required of Eisenbach & Ruhnke, P.C. to complete project 10875, “Roof, Heating Plant & Replacement and Interior Upgrades” at Martin Luther King Jr. School under existing Requirements PO 2020-00006503 in the amount of $60,000.00 increasing the fee from $530,000.00 to $590,000.00 with no change in term, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to amend the existing assignment to Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C., 291 Genessee Street, Utica, NY 13501 to provide additional design services for CIP 10875 “Roof, Heating Plant & Replacement and Interior Upgrades” at Martin Luther King Jr. School to Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering, P.C., in the amount of $60,000.00 increasing the fee from $530,000.00 to $590,000.00 with no change to the term, under PO 2020-00006503.
