Rationale: Fuller and D’Angelo, P.C. Architects & Planners
Amount: $90,000.00
Scope: To provide additional architectural and engineering services for the Phase 2 work under Capital Project 10876, “Replace Windows, Masonry, Select Interior Finishes and Site Work” at Family School 32. This includes development of a separate bid package for Phase 2 work, provide Bidding & Negotiation, and Construction Administration services.

Overview:
CIP 10876 includes replacement of windows, casework and shades; high-tech security system, toilet room upgrades, HVAC upgrades and whole building air-conditioning, electrical upgrades and emergency generator, replacement of ceilings and lights, flooring replacement, painting of interior finishes, parking lot expansion, select sidewalk replacement, curbs and storm drain improvements and requisite hazardous materials amelioration. The revised project cost is now estimated to $16 million.

Due to the size, complexity and economic supply chain issues, the project requires being broken down into three (3) phases over multiple years.

Phase 1 HVAC Upgrades totaled $9.2 million and construction started summer 2024, is ongoing and scheduled to be substantially completed summer 2026.

Phase 2 replacement of classroom ceilings & lights, toilet room upgrades and site parking lot expansion is estimated to be $3.4 million is scheduled to be completed summer 2025.

Phase 3 window replacement, vinyl asbestos floor tile abatement and interior painting is estimated to be $3.4 million and pending funding is scheduled for summer 2026.

Resolution: WHEREAS via resolution 21.14 dated July 17, 2019, the Board of Education awarded PO 2020-1192 Architectural Services for CIP 10876, “Replace Windows, Masonry, Select Interior Finishes and Site Work” at Family School 32 to Fuller & D’Angelo P.C., Architects in the amount of $875,420.00 and a term of 1,095 calendar days under Contract 617108, and

WHEREAS Amendment 3 is required for additional architectural and engineering services for bidding and negotiation and construction administration services for Phase 2 work, and

WHEREAS Fuller and D’Angelo, P.C. Architects & Planners have presented an acceptable proposal to complete this added task for Phase 2 at a cost of $90,000.00.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to issue Amendment 3 under Contract 2024-0872 to Fuller and D’Angelo, P.C. Architects & Planners for $90,000.00, increasing their task amount to $970,060.00.
