Rationale:
|
This resolution authorizes the District to issue the subject purchase order for Milburn Flooring to:
• Yonkers Middle High School – Remove metal track across entire floor, install new wood, screen/sand entire floor (4 passes), paint game lines, finish with Bona 350 Sport Finish (2 coats), in the amount of $96,882.72.
• School 30 - Screen/sand entire floor (4 passes), paint game lines, finish with Bona 350 Sport Finish (2 coats), in the amount of $33,605.60.
• Cross Hill Academy - Remove/repair/replace volleyball sleeves, screen/sand entire floor (4 passes), paint game lines, finish with Bona 350 Sport Finish (2 coats) in the amount of $11,736.00.
This is the first year that Milburn Flooring, has been engaged by the District to perform this work under the NYSOGS contract.
Procurement will be via New York State Contract PC69412 “Milburn Flooring” in an amount not to exceed $142,224.32 for a term of 365 calendar days.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the Yonkers Board of Education requires that all existing gymnasium wood surfaces be maintained and improved, and
WHEREAS: Yonkers Public Schools in its process of maintaining and improving gymnasium wood surfaces throughout the District will repair, restripe, and refinish gymnasium wood floors throughout the District, as needed, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into a contract with Milburn Sales Co., Inc. (dba: Milburn Flooring), 20 35th Street, Copiague, NY 11726, under NYSOGS Contract PC69412 for an amount not to exceed $142,224.32 for a term of 365 calendar days.
