Rationale:
|
This resolution is to assign Savin Engineers Pre-Construction Management Services as per their response to RFQ453 on 29 capital projects that are at various stages of design with a total value of approximately $115 million.
Savin will be assisting School Facilities in performing constructability reviews and cost estimates to limit change orders and delays by ensuring that all aspects of scope of work are fully covered, making recommendations for materials and equipment to limit long lead problems and assist in planning, scheduling and preparing bids to meet construction milestones. This is to be done on an as needed basis at the direction of the department. Payment is based on the terms and conditions in Contract 2022-0660. The projects and the associated funding are listed on the attached spreadsheet.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: under Resolution 15.23 at the stated meeting on March 16, 2022, the Board of Education authorized the award of an “On-Call” Professional Construction Management Services contract to Savin Engineers, P.C. in response to District RFQ453 for an amount not to exceed $1 million, and
WHEREAS: the response by Savin Engineers to request for proposal by the Facilities Department to provide pre-construction management services to the above capital projects was deemed most advantageous to the District at a cost not to exceed $150,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to assign Savin Engineers, P.C., 3 Campus Drive, Pleasantville, NY 10570, to the task of providing “On-Call” Professional Pre-Construction Management Services for Multiple Capital Projects at a cost not to exceed $150,000.00.
