Rationale:
|
Via Resolution 17.5 at their stated meeting on January 20, 2016 the Board of Trustees awarded a requirements contract to Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI), for an amount not to exceed $1 million.
Via Resolution 22.22 at the June 2017 stated meeting this contract was amended to increase the upset funding limit to $1.5 million and extend the term for another 3 years.
This is required for District added scope of work, including but not limited to: enlarging and altering the main entrance to provide a canopy and security checkpoint, relocation of the nurses’ office, staging area for construction and a new playground. This is to be done for a fee of $142,000.
The District has also added more rigorous sampling & testing of the site soils & rock and hazardous materials in the building. A contingent fee to cover reimbursable expenses of up to $33,000 is desired.
This amendment revises the AE fee for CIP 10826 from $329,600 to $504,600. This includes the above work and the 6 classroom 2 story addition which is anticipated to be built in 2022 for an estimated project cost of $7.5 million. The work entailed under CIP 10732 is completed and in use by the District, the cost of which is $7 million.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: under Resolution 22.26 at the stated meeting on June 22, 2017, the Board of Education authorized the Assignment of Professional Architectural/Engineering Services Task for PO 2018-206 “Restoration of Envelope, Security, Site, Parking and 6 Classroom Addition” at School 30 to Greenman-Pedersen, Inc for an amount not to exceed $449,300, and
WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.11 at the stated meeting on November 15, 2017, the Board of Education authorized Amendment No. 1 for the amount of $86,900, and
WHEREAS: under Resolution 16.12 at the stated meeting on August 15, 2018, the Board of Education authorized Amendment No. 1 for the amount of $101,500, and
WHEREAS: additional work is required by the district to perform additional design services and testing for the “6 Classroom Addition” at School 30, CIP 10826 Phase II work, and
WHEREAS: the response by Greenman-Pedersen, Inc.to the request for the additional work issued by the Facilities Department was deemed most advantageous to the District at a cost not to exceed $175,000.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to amend the task for PO 2018-206 of Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., 400 Rella Boulevard, Suite 207, Montebello, NY 10901 of providing additional professional Architectural/Engineering services for capital project CIP10732 & 10826 “Restoration of Envelope, Security, Site, Parking and 6 Classroom Addition” at School 30, under Requirements Contract 617109 to Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., in the amount of $175,000.00 for CIP 10826 revising the assigned task from $637,700 to 812,700
