Rationale:
|
This is to award Contract 2 of 5 General Construction-Building, capital fund construction work for CIP10873 & 10888 “Auditorium Upgrades and Exterior Bleacher Replacement” at Lincoln High School, Bid IFB 6594 to Grace Contracting & Development LLC for $1,103,000.00 and a term of 365 calendar days.
IFB 6594 was let for public bid in compliance with General Municipal Law 103. Bids were opened in public and read aloud on April 2, 2021. A total of five bids were received, with the highest bidder at $1,960,000.00 the average at $1,458,160.00. The work was designed by Fuller & D’Angelo Architects and was estimated to be approximately $1,200,000.00.
After interviewing the apparent low bidder and confirming that they understood the scope of work, their bids were found to be correct, references and experience requirements were met the department, KG&D and F&D all recommend award.
General construction work in the building includes but is not limited to alterations to the stage, seating, floor painting and ceilings and renovation of the two restrooms in the lobby.
IFB 6594 includes replacement of the exterior concrete bleachers. Auditorium work includes alteration to the stage, lighting, sound system, seating, floor painting, motorized projection screen & projector and upgrade to auditorium ventilation to add air-conditioning. Lobby work includes new lighting, ceilings and renovation of the two restrooms. The project value is estimated at $4.6 million. The work is scheduled for this summer.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 public bids were opened on April 2, 2021 for IFB 6594 Contract 2 of 5 General Construction Work, for CIP10873 “Auditorium Upgrades and Exterior Bleacher Replacement” at Lincoln High School, and
WHEREAS: five (5) bids were received and read aloud in public, and
WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result, the administration has determined that Grace Contracting & Development LLC is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder at $1,103,000.00
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that IFB 6594, Contract 2/5 General Construction Work, CIP 10873 & 10888 “Auditorium Upgrades and Exterior Bleacher Replacement”, at Lincoln High School, be awarded to Grace Contracting & Development LLC., 427 Beach Road, West Haverstraw, NY 10993 for $1,103,000.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
