Rationale:
|
This is to issue Change Order 1 for contract 2021-0567 CIP 10845, “Restoration of Building Envelope, Interiors, Security and Site Drainage” Site Work at School 16 to Abbott and Price, Inc., for $82,722.51 and extend the term by 180 calendar days for paperwork purposes. By Resolution No. 16.12 dated February 24, 2021, Contract 2021-0567 was awarded to Abbott and Price for $480,540.00 and a term of 365 calendar days. This change order increases the contract from $480,540 to $563,262.51 and the term to 545 calendar days. This change order is for field conditions and owner directed additional work performed at negotiated lump sum prices. Fourteen change order proposals (COP) were requested of the contractor by the District for additional work, most of which was due to changed, deteriorated or unforeseen conditions. Two were rejected and there were two credits (see attached). Replacement of collapsing retaining walls, expansion of the parking lot paving and additional waterproofing are the bulk of the change order 1.

Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS: By Resolution No. 16.12 dated February 24, 2021, Contract 2021-0567 was awarded to Abbott and Price for $480,540.00 for a term of 365 calendar days, and WHEREAS: in the course of executing the contracted work it was determined that additional work was required to be performed, and WHEREAS: the fee for this added work is for the negotiated lump sum price of be performed to complete the project in the amount of $82,722.51. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to issue Change Order 1 to Contract 2021-0567, “Restoration of Building Envelope, Interiors, Security and Site Drainage” Site Work at School 16, to Abbott and Price, Inc., 5 Schuman Road, Millwood, NY 10546 for the amount of $82,722.51 increasing the contract amount from $480,540 to $563,262.51 and increasing the term for an additional 180 calendar days.
