Rationale:
|
In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, this contract was let for public bid and bids were opened in public and read aloud on January 15, 2021. A total of 2 bids were received, with the highest bidder at $67,963.00 the average at $55,681.50. The work was designed by CPL Architects and was estimated to be approximately $40,000.00.
After interviewing the apparent low bidder and confirming that they understood the scope of work, their bids were found to be correct, confirmed references, and a successful history with the District, CPL Architects, Savin Engineers and this Department are recommending the award of the subject contract to Joe Lombardo Plumbing & Heating.
This Contract 4 of 5 plumbing includes, but is not limited to removal and replacement of bathroom & classroom fixtures and associated waste and domestic water supply piping in two classrooms and new toilet room.
Overall, CIP 10845 includes replacement of select masonry façade & roofing, new site storm drain system, restoration of flooring, ceilings, lights, doors & interior finishes in the gym and ground floor classrooms, (including requisite asbestos work), installation of new public address and “high tech” security systems. The project value is estimated at $3.3 million

WHEREAS: in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 public bids opened on January 15, 2021 for RFB 6574 Contract 4 of 5 General Construction Building, CIP10845, “Restoration of Building Envelope , Interiors ,Security and Site”, and
WHEREAS: two (2) bids were received and read aloud in public, and
WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result, the administration has determined that Joe Lombardo Plumbing & Heating is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder at $43,400.00
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that Contract RFB 6574, Contract 4/5 Plumbing, CIP10845, “Restoration of Building Envelope, Interiors, Security and Site Drainage” at School 16, to Joe Lombardo Plumbing & Heating, 321 Spook Rock Road Suite 109 A, Suffern NY 10901 for $43,400.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
