Rationale:
|
This is to award Contract 1 of 5 General Construction site work, capital fund construction for CIP10873 & 10888 “Auditorium Upgrades and Exterior Bleacher Replacement” at Lincoln High School, Bid IFB 6594 to Northbrook Contracting Corp. for
$ 2,213,000.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
IFB 6594 was let for public bid in compliance with General Municipal Law 103. Bids were opened in public and read aloud on April 2, 2021. A total of four (4) bids were received, with the highest bidder at $2,386,000.00 the average at $2,069,250.0. The work was designed by Fuller & D’Angelo Architects and was estimated to be approximately $1,979,433.00
The apparent low bidder (Streamline construction) realized that they miss calculated the numbers and they asked to withdraw their bid.
Facilities then called in the second low bidder, Northbrook Contracting Corp., confirming that they understood the scope of work, their bids were found to be correct, references and experience requirements were met the department, KG&D and F&D all recommend award to Northbrook Contracting Corp.
CONTRACT 1, General construction for site work includes but is not limited to the replacement of pre-cast concrete bleachers, concrete planks, steps, aisle railings, brick & stucco end closures, exit stairs, field side fence & railing, and site restoration
IFB 6594 includes replacement of the exterior concrete bleachers. Auditorium work includes alteration to the stage, lighting, sound system, seating, floor painting, motorized projection screen & projector and upgrade to auditorium ventilation to add air-conditioning. Lobby work includes new lighting, ceilings and renovation of the two restrooms. The project value is estimated at $4.6 million. The work is scheduled for this summer.

WHEREAS: in compliance with General Municipal Law 103 public bids were opened on April 2, 2021 for IFB 6594 Contract 1 of 5 General Construction Site Work, “Auditorium Upgrades and Exterior Bleacher Replacement” and
WHEREAS: four (4) bids were received and read aloud in public, and
WHEREAS, the apparent low bidder, Streamline Construction, was permitted to withdraw their bid due to mathematical errors, and
WHEREAS: such remaining bids were duly examined and as a result, the administration has determined that Northbrook Contracting Corp, is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder at $ 2,213,000.00
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that IFB 6594, Contract 1/5 General Construction site work, CIP 10873 and 10888, “Auditorium Upgrades and Exterior Bleacher Replacement”, at Lincoln High School, be awarded to Northbrook Contracting Corp., 7 Corporate Drive, Peekskill, NY 10566 for $2,213,000.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
